About our home

My modern city appartment on the 12th floor has a large living room, 2 bedrooms, an open kitchen (you'll be your own dishwasher) and a broad balcony from which you can see all the way to Rotterdam on clear days. It is especially suitable for culture & beach lovers, who like a quiet, comfortable and safe stay. From the railwaystation Hollands Spoor, which is a 5 minute walk, you can easily take trains and trams to all our wonderful historical cities like Delft, Leiden, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Tram 1 and 9 take you to the beach in 30 minutes. Shops are near. And the city centre is reached in a 15 minute walk. The area is less suitable for families with childern. I have one bike for you to use to drive to every place you like! If you need an office, let me know. I can ask if that can be arranged. My office is in the historical hart of the city.

More about us

  1. I (43) am a professional coach, trainer in systemic listening, writer and entrepreneur, specialised in career coaching and training of the highly gifted. My office (HaagseHoogvliegers.nl) is in the city centre. My husband, who is a retired urban and regional planning expert, lives in Utrecht and will go sailing this summer.

  2. I am looking for a nice quiet home/apartment in a pleasant village in the midst of woods/hills/mountains. A 'Kurort' or health resort where I can do lots of reading, thinking, reflecting, walking, studying and writing. Ideally there is a sauna or a thermal bath nearby. I'll be traveling by train.

  3. I'd love to swap my city apartment for preferably 3 to 4 weeks with someone or a couple from for example the Lake District, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Baden-Würtemberg, Traben-Trarbach, Bayern (Süd).

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The urban area where I live is called 'Laak'. During the year about 30.000 students fly in and out. Although it is considered to be one of the poorer area's, I live in a 'good part' and like it a lot. Not only because the location is excellent, but also because its friendly atmosphere and cultural diversity. Over the last years the area has made progress in transforming into a sustainable 'Quartier Latin'. You'll like it especially when you love cityviews a lot.

Buzzy restaurants
Many artists and entrepreneurs love 'Mamma Kelly' in the 'Berlin part of the Hague: the Binckorst. If you love views, go visit the Hague Tower, only a stroll away: www.haagsetoren.nl And in the summer beachclub 'Punte' is my favourite for it's the only one that allows you to just hear the sea!
Cool bars
The 'Safe bar' of Hotel Indigo in the city centre is my favourite. It serves wonderful cocktails.
Cozy cafés
If not on holiday most Dutch politicans can be found in one of the bars at the Plein, in the city centre.
Retail therapy
Most art galeries you'll find @ Noordeinde. Nice shops @ de Denneweg / Fredrikstraat / Fredrik Hendrikstraat
Bit of culture
The most beautiful building is of course the Peace Palace. If you buy a 'MuseumJaarkaart' for around 60 Euro's you'll have 'free' entrance in almost all Dutch Musea. Most interesting museums cost 15 Euros per visit and ticket, so if you plan to visit more than 4, it might save you lots of money. You can buy them in almost all museums. A nice way of learning more about The Hague is taking a boat tour via ooievaert.nl
Walks in the park
The Hague is said to be one of the greenest lager cities in the world. You'll find parks anywhere. Clingendael and Westbroekpark are the prettiest.
Spot of exercise
You can climb walls around the corner if you like. Personally I love to walk and ride my bike through the dunes. So pretty! If surfing is more your cup of tea or yoga at the beach, go and find out what Scheveningen has on offer!
Day tripping
Rotterdam, Delft, Leiden, Utrecht, Amsterdam, all easy to reach by taking a train from station Hollands Spoor, which is reached in 5 minute walking.
