Description of our house.
Our home is an old farmhouse. The last few years we have renovated completely, as you can see on the pictures. It is a comfortable and spacious house.
On the ground floor we have a living room, a kitchen, an eating room, a bathroom and a large open room where we have our washing and drying machines. On the first floor we have 4 bedrooms, a lot of open space and 2 bathrooms.
The garden is very large with view to the meadows. In the summer we can see the cows and in the winter there are grazing the sheep.
We have a few animals: 3 fishes, a cat, 2 rabbits and 2 guinea-pigs. Those last four are together in a rabbit hutch outside the house. The animals require some daily care.

We live in the middle of Holland, so lots of nice places – Amsterdam, Utrecht, and less known but even more lovely Delft and Gouda - are within 1 our driving. In the direct neighborhood we have a lot of fields (meadow). So it is nice to go biking and enjoy the scenery with the lovely farmhouses.
The city of Leerdam has a famous glass factory and there is also a nice glass museum in the center of the city.
Something about ourselves.
We are a family of 4 persons: Guido, Ariette, Margot and Annemarie. Guido is vp of research and development of a technical company, Ariette is an architect. Our children are 10 years and 7 years old. Margot is good in gymnastics and Annemarie likes riding horseback very much.
We have never changed houses before, so we are very interested and excited how it will be. It is of course also a bit scary because we have put a lot of effort to restore our house.
We have very positive experiences with relatives staying in our house during our holidays. They like the calm place and the scenery. However, it is always quite some calling around before we can settle an arrangement. So, we now try the home exchange.
