About our home

In order to visit my daughter, who went backpacking to Melbourne and unexpectedly stayed there I would like to exchange homes in February 2016. I live in the Netherlands, in Leiden ( 30 min. to Amsterdam or The Hague ). My house is situated in a quiet street 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes by public transport from the city centre of Leiden. It is in the neighborhood of a recreation area near a lake. You can golf, tennis, walk ,bike, visit the sauna. The house has a living room, dining room with a large table a kitchen, we. On the first floor there is one master bedroom, 2 kids rooms and a bathroom with a bath and shower. There is a study on the second floor .Normal European standards: CV heating, kitchen with dishwasher etc.etc. There are two sunny gardens.
In the whole house there is wifi and interactive TV. There are 2 TV 's with all main Europe channels, the second in the study.
I would very much like to switch cars too. I have a little Toyota, which is convenient for visiting the busy Dutch city's, but I used to ride a big car .
My house is maybe to big for a person alone, but I don't see a problem changing for a smaller house/ apartment in Melbourne, as I shall stay there alone. A good location and the use of a car is for me of much more importance.
Holland is a nice place to stay in February. The culture season is then at its best. It doesn't rain as much as in the rest of the year, it is actually often sunny thou could, but with some luck you may have snow and maybe see the famous Dutch frozen channels and lakes and lots of skating Dutchmen. In Leiden we skate till late in the night. So it would be an exotic experience for an Australian, I imagine.
