About our home

Our beautiful, spacious, open-plan family home is both modern and comfortable. With two separate living areas, a dining area, kids play area, kitchen and toilet downstairs, there is plenty of room to relax, sit back and watch a movie or read a book by the floor-to ceiling, wall-to-wall back sliding door which overlooks the long, luscious back garden. The back garden is split into 3 distinct areas; the barbecue and dining area, the decking area with lounge chairs, and the lawn and hammock area where kids love to play and relax. The front of the house features off-street parking for two cars where swings can also be hung, and a sun-trap courtyard ideal for enjoying your breakfast in. Upstairs features three spacious double bedrooms and a large luxurious bathroom with bath and wet-room shower. A travel cot is also available if needed. There is also a very comfortable double sofa bed in the den area downstairs which can be used if extra sleeping facilities are required.

More about us

  1. We're an Irish couple living in Maastricht for over 4 years with our 2 children; a girl and a boy.

  2. We both lecture at Maastricht University.

  3. We love to travel and have lived in and travelled to many countries across the world. We also love design, architecture, and new innovations and our house reflects this passion. But most of all our house is a home. It is cozy and comfortable and somewhere we always look forward to getting back to after we've been away.

Where is it?

Castelmorelaan is a cul de sac street in a secluded leafy neighbourhood where the kids play together on the street. It is within 5 minutes walking distance of a charming neighbourhood bar and top restaurant and countryside walks. There is also a well-stocked and reasonably priced supermarket, other shops, church and the city park all within easy walking distance.
The house is within 20 minutes walk of the famous Vrijthof, where Andre Rieu plays his annual open-air concerts every July. For those who prefer to take transport, the number 3 bus will have you there in 5 minutes. This bus continues to the Markt, and on to Maastricht Train and Bus station. Trains leave regularly for Eindhoven, Amsterdam and the rest of the Randstad to the north, Heerlen and Kerkrade to the east, and south to Liege in Belgium. There is also a regular bus to Aachen in Germany.
The nearby Belgian border is within easy distance of the house, with the restaurants, bars and cafe's of Vroenhoven and Kanne offering good quality alternatives to downtown Maastricht. There is also a lovely walk / cycle along the Albert Canal.
