About our home

Our house is in the middle of a village in between the big cities Rotterdam and Gouda. It is situated in the middle of the pittoreske part of the village. It is very peace and quite but still you can reach the business of the cities close. Within 5 minutes you are in Rotterdam or stay in the village to enjoy the dike and nature in the surroundings. Take the bike and explore the surroundings. If you take my car, be carefull to use it, its kind of new.

Neighbourhood

At the most northeastern tip of Rotterdam, on the Zevenhuizerplas, lies the spaciously designed new-build neighborhood Nesselande. The palm trees and the wide beach on the Sicilian Boulevard give the feeling that you are in a sophisticated seaside resort in southern Europe. Nothing could be further from the truth, you are in the municipality of Rotterdam.

It's beach in Nesselande is a good alternative to the crowded seaside resorts in the summer. The difference with a sea beach is that there are no dunes, but modern high-rise buildings. On the Sicilian Boulevard and Maltaplein you will find not only dining options and ice cream parlors, but also supermarkets and drug stores. Handy for when you have forgotten the sunscreen.

In the Zevenhuizerplas there is a clear separation between the area for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts. As a result, good, and safe, wind surfing, sailing, diving and rowing are possible.
Outside the summer there is also plenty to do. The shops are open every Sunday. Nesselande is also a nice starting point for a bike ride through the adjacent Groene Hart. There is also much modern architecture to be seen. The neighborhood is full of it.
