About our home

Due to Corona, we prefer to stay in our own country. As soon as the situation has changed, we like to travel by car to countries where it is safe to travel,

Our home is a modern (semi)bungalow (1990), surrounded by a nice garden with 2 terraces and 2 ponds, attracting many birds and offering a lot of privacy. There is a comfortable living area with open kitchen, dining-room and a conservatory with WIFI. The master bedroom with electric king-size bed and the new bathroom with walk-in rain shower are situated on the ground floor. The other 2 bedrooms, a hobby room and 2nd bathroom are on the first floor. The indoor garage is connected to the scullery where you find the washing-machine, dryer and freezer. Our home is not suitable for small children.

More about us

  1. We are Ria and René, 74/75 years old. We have 2 grown-up sons. Our favorite activities are travelling, hiking, biking, dancing, swimming and playing bridge. René is a retired project manager at KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines) and Ria a retired travel agent. We had many exchanges (30), all over the world between 1983-2020. We moved to Nijverdal in June 2007, love our new home. We are very careful and treat your home like we do our own.

  2. We only do classic swaps, no points and like to exchange with adults only.

  3. We love nature, (small) cities, art and the beach.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Nijverdal is a small town in Twente, a touristic area in the east part of the Netherlands, close to the German border (30 min. by car). Very special is the scenery of the National Park "De Sallandse Heuvelrug" (5 min. by car), where you can hike and bike for hours. We have 2 electric bikes to use for comfort biking. You find forest and moorlands, which will be in a magnificent purple bloom in the months of August and September and where you can enjoy beautiful views. In our home we have lots of hike-, bike- and car-routes for a large area around our home. Not far by car you'll find attractive old cities, like Deventer, Zutphen, Zwolle and Kampen with many museums. One of the most famous, typical Dutch villages is Giethoorn with lots of small canals, farm-like houses and bridges. Very picturesque! Shopping possibilities are in Almelo, Hengelo, Enschede and Zwolle, but also Nijverdal offers all you need. The nearest supermarket is just 300 meters away. Amsterdam is only 2 hrs by car or train. One needs more than one day to discover all the museums (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank-house and many more), the restaurants and cafés. A canal cruise is a must! Amsterdam airport is less than 2 hours by car or train, and it's an easy drive of 80 minutes to the German airports of Münster, Weeze or Düsseldorf, where you have many possibilities for trips further in Europe as well. We have a car Suzuki Liana with automatic transmission, which we offer for exchange.
