“We spent an amazing week at Jonna and Richard's house. It is a very beautiful and comfortable house which his very close from utrecht center. There are lots of parks around the house which is very pleasant for kids. Utrecht and every cities in Netherlands are so cute, peaceful : just take your bike and have a drink along the river. There are so much things and places to visit ! People are very kind as Jonna and Richard. We had lots of very friendly conversation. I do recommend a swap with them !”
Jonna's reviewsAs a host (2)
“In summer 2019 we enjoyed a very happy and successful exchange to this nice place. The warm and welcome feeling spread out as soon as we entered the home. The location is great for visiting the city of Utrecht and all the cultural advantages it offers. We could easily reach every point by bike, what we really enjoyed ;) After a day exploring this great city we relaxed on the comfortable outdoor lounge and got to know some friendly and helpful neighbors . The highlights of our exchange were riding the bikes through Utrecht, visiting the Kröger-Müller museum close to Arnhem (the only time we had to take the car) and the Rietveld-Schröder house in Utrecht, enjoying delicious pancakes at Rhijnauwen in a romantic setting, a two hour kayaking tour through Utrecht, shopping and dining at various restaurants. We rate this property very highly. Jonna and Richard were brilliant to exchange with. They were very friendly, communicative, trustworthy and respectful of our home. Definitely a top property and exchange!””
Where is it?
Utrecht is the fourth largest city in the Netherlands and it is around 30 minutes south of Amsterdam. It is a charming student city with a great history. Utrecht has a 14th-centurty cathedral, Dom-Tower, which is 112 meters high. On a clear day you can even see Amsterdam op top of the tower - that can be reached after 465 steps! In the weekend you can enjoy from the various markets (food, flower and fabrics markets) in the city or enjoy a drink in one of the many restaurants by the main canal.
We live in the area called Veemarkt which is small new neighborhood just outside the centre (3 km from the centre). There are very good public transport connections and access to highway. You can reach Utrecht city centre by bike under 15 minutes or by bus in 10 minutes. From Utrecht you can easily make trips around the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany with car or train.
