About our home

My house is on a dutch island in the old center village. It is mainly woodbuild and part of a project of twelve with characteristic outlines. It is clean, pretty, comfortable and sober. It has a small garden with sit downs. There is no through traffic.

Den Burg is a lively village in the middle of the island with lots of shops and restaurants. The long North Sea beach is on the west side and to the east is the dike along the Waddenzee (Unesco!). The island is only 10 kilometers wide and 25 long, but it has seven villages and a large variety of landscapes. Four thousand hectares of nature with dunes, woods and beautiful sandy beaches and the same acreage with the old rural area with mainly sheep and the polders with their agricultural crop. In the spring the island is so pretty with lots of little lams, colorful bulb fields and lots of nesting birds. See https://www.texel.net/nl/over-texel/seizoenen/lente-op-texel.
We have many visitors and all sorts of activities, but there are many places where you would hardly see anyone. Last April Lonely Planet placed Texel on the top ten list for this year!

There is the cat Kaatje.
You can use the two E bikes to discover the island.
You might take a visit to Amsterdam, as it is only two hours away by boat and train.
