About our home

I'm a publisher and work and live in two studio's in Utrecht. Both studio's are 50 m2, they are on the first & second floor of a 1920's house (both with a stair). You have 2 private kitchens, 2 bathrooms and toilets, 2 double beds. You can read books & magazines here, play some records, buy tapas & fresh juices in the Kanaalstraat, write that book you always wanted or just explore Utrecht and the rest of the Netherlands.

More about us

  1. I'm Carla (56). I have a free profession as an editor in chief, that gives me the opportunity to travel a lot and take my work with me. So, also this year I like to explore Paris, Greece, The States and the rest of the world (great city's and nature) with my partner or a friend or maybe (one of my) sons.

  2. In my work I'm a creative storyteller and in the two studio's I live and work I like it to be creative and spacious as well. I love to make the house comfortable for people I work and live with and also for Home for exchange guests.

Neighbourhood

Lombok is an upcoming area near the central station with some great food shops, coffee bars, restaurants and hidden spots. A bit like the former Pijp in Amsterdam or Queens in NY this is one of the multi-cultural areas that develop rapidly into a bohemian neighborhood. You can walk to the apartment in 10 minutes from the station when you take the entrance at the Jaarbeurs. Also by car it's easy to reach. The Jaarbeurs is on 5 minutes walking distance.

Buzzy restaurants
Zware jongens - pop up restaurant in the old Munt (the Dutch money factory)
Cool bars
The Anthony - hotel bar at the end of my street
Cozy cafés
Kanaalzicht - typical Utrecht bar with live music on Sunday
Bit of culture
Central Museum - modern art
Walks in the park
Oog in Al park - beautiful with an old estate where you can have great coffee, lunch or dinner
