About our home

WE ARE NOT LOOKING TO SWAP IN THIS TIME FROM DEC 2013 to DEC 2014 - will update when we know:)

Come and experience the Kiwi dream. Algies Bay is perfectly located so you can have it all. Our house is 200 meters from the beach, 10 minutes from some of New Zealand best wineries, 30 minutes from many of New Zealand's best tourism spots (Sheep World, Goat Island, Matakana Markets, Ti Point Reptile Park and Orewa Surf Beaches) and 45 minutes from Auckland CBD.

Our house and the area is perfect for couples, families, singles, young & old: there really is something for everyone.

We have lived here in NZ for 10 years and in our house for 5 years. We live in a friendly and laid back neighborhood 200m walk from the beach/park - great for swimming. We are a 3 min drive to bakeries, fruit stores, $2 Shop, fish n chips, simple shops (The Wharehouse), convenient stores, hairdressers, restaurants, churches, fishing, kayak and boat hire and more. Highfield Reserve is a 2 minute walk away up a beautiful hill to breathtaking ocean views. Sandspit Jetty is a 5 min drive where you can board the local Kawau Kat and go to Kawau Island a beautiful and historical adventure for the day - you often see dolpins and penguins.

Closest to us is Warkworth, a 10 minute drive and this is where you would do your main food shop at New World or Count Down and it is a small city along a river rich in history and has a lovely animal park called Sheep World, local Museum and great cafes and local art. Matakana is a huge attraction for city dwellers to find a country escape - Matakana is 10 minutes drive away with yummy ice creameries (Charlies), gorgeous art like cinemas, clothes shopping, local food produce, wineries, markets and local art. Leigh is 15 minutes drive and has a Reptile Park and Goat Island is a 25 minute drive where you can hire snorkelling, scuba diving gear and go on a glass bottom boat.

Auckland is a 45min drive south with unlimited attractions. Closest retail shops are in Orewa and Albany about 20 to 30 mins. Waiwera Hotpools are a 20 minute drive toward Auckland with spas, gym, sauna, kids slides and movie pool.
Wow - loads to do and enjoy (and heaps more)!!

Check out the following 360 degree views to give you some perspective on why this is the kiwi dream.

Algies Bay - 200 meters from our drive way

Snells beach - 2 minutes drive

Martins Bay - 3 minutes drive
