“We were ecstatic to find this home was just what it says on the profile, and even more than that! It is very clean, upmarket but simple and functional in its design and lay out. Lots of lovely artwork to muse at, and comfortable to lounge and bedrooms. It is welcoming, and has a wonderful green, private outlook, across bush and to two separate bodies of water. We felt like celebrities staying there, and were the envy of our friends (being only a short walk away from Mudbrick and other vineyards). We enjoyed hanging out with Mica the pussy cat, who was no trouble to look after. And it is the perfect location for a short walk down into the village for a shop or the beach. Barbara was very easy to deal with and we would highly recommend this homeswap to you.”

“A beautiful house in a beautiful location. The photos do not do it justice. We loved staying in Barbara and John's home. The artist studio was a treat for us, being artists too. We loved the 1 rainy day that gave us an excuse to stay home and paint. And the sunny days meant we explored the local area and discovered all the wonderful wineries on Waiheke island. Really loved NZ. Amazing kindness and hospitality everywhere we went. Our stay on Waiheke was the jewel in the crown of our wonderful trip to Australia and New Zealand. Barbara and John's home was very easy to use, we enjoyed the veg garden, it was very comfortable and stunning throughout. The cat was a character we'll never forget. Lovely neighbours too! Thank you for letting us visit your home. It was a memorable treat for our 10th wedding anniversary. ”
“It was a delight to stay at Barbara and John's lovely property on Waiheke Island, beautifully decorated with lovely artworks. it is situated within walking distance of the Village and wineries. The house was very comfortable for us and when the weather was not good, we lit the pot belly stove and felt very cosy. We would go back there again, for sure. Sue and Geoff Brice”
Where is it?
We live in an exceptional community based on a green ethos, where locals work together to protect the environment and our homes are largely self sufficient. Like many tourist destinations it becomes very busy during the holiday seasons and relaxes during winter. The local beaches are safe and uncrowded even in peak times , so there is room to breathe and the island has a vibe like no other.
