About our home
Our home is our home and we love it. It's full of character and we must have one of the few old houses in the street that hasn't been renovated. It's almost 100 years old and has a charming, relaxed feel. A woodburner in the lounge keeps the place warm in the winter and keeps us in hotwater.
We have a small kitchen connected to a dining room that looks out over the garden.
A steep staircase at the back of the house connects to a medium size garden that we attempt to tame. It's scattered with fruit trees and herbs.
Our house also has a downstairs flat where a lovely, quiet couple live.

More about us
-
We are a married couple with one small child. I'm a script writer and my wife is an actor. Our family is spread around the world so we travel quite a bit. Our last trip was to Zambia where we spent a month and we often travel to Australia.
We have never done a home exchange before but have heard great stories from our friends and it sounds more appealing than spending weeks in a hotel/motel. We also love being part of a community and we would also like to make visitors welcome to our slice of paradise.

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
Grey Lynn with its many bungalows and villas, tree lined streets and parks feels a million miles from the city but it's less than 5 minutes by car and ten by public transport. We have a bus stop a minutes walk from our front door and a train stop 10-15 minutes.
Eden Park, the home of the rugby world cup is also a ten minute walk away.
Grey Lynn park which has a skateboard bowl, a children's playground and flying fox is a two minute stroll away.
The population has a diverse range of cultures with a large Pacific Island community. In recent years it has become very trendy. Many people work in film/television/media/arts. As a result there is great coffee and food in this area with many cafes and bars sprinkled around the suburb.
Our street is very safe and we have fantastic neighbours.
