About our home

Our Auckland house is a large, warm and comfortable family home in a nice suburban area but close to Botany Town centre which has cinema's, restaurants, cafes, shops and entertainment. This house is a two story modern home (only 10 years old or should I say young?). There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, all with city views (to the Sky tower) and balconies. Downstairs is another bedroom, a large family living room off the kitchen and another large lounge which is rarely used. There are also two studies and a large entrance hall. There is a nice sunny private back garden, and the house itself is up a driveway, so is private.

We also have available as a second choice a typical kiwi beach 'BACH'. It is 40 years old, but comfortable and fun. Best of all it is right on the beachfront at Whangamta - a fantastic swimming and surfing beach. This is a piece of paradise in summer. We have attached some photos of the view from the bach.

More about us

We are travelling as a family to Italy for July, August and September 2007, We are looking for a place for 1 month in central Italy, toscana, Umbria or nearby to get a great taste of Italy!
Andrew is 42, of Italian and English descent, working as an investment manager based in Central Auckland. He is a football player of dwindling capability and has decided that surfing is his new escape.
Jo is 43, part Dutch, and the artistic balance, she is the family leader, and social expert. She also has to learn Italian so we dont starve on our travels!
Connor, 13, doesnt yet know everything, but soon he will think he does. He is a football player of growing capacity, and of course a computer game expert. He has also discovered surfing, and the long hair to go with it!
Jamie is 10 and is our resident princess. She has her dad wrapped round her finger, but luckily mum keeps the balance.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The house is in a friendly neighbourhood, quiet, yet close to everything you will need for an enjoyable time. It is approximatelt 25 minutes drive to the centre of Auckland city, but only 5 minutes drive to east coast beaches or the rural green-belt at Whitford. Also it is a 10 minute drive to the Southern motorway which provides access south out of Auckland.
This house is available for Christmas and all of January each year as we are at the beach house. It will also be available for July, August and September in 2007 when we are in Italy, although that is winter time in Auckland.

The bach is right on the sandy ocean beach at Whangamata, which is about 2 hours drive from Auckland at the bottom of the beautiful Coromandel Penninsula, and 1 hour north of Tauranga. Quite simply it is one of the most relaxing and beautiful places on earth. A long white sandy beach, great waves, but excellent swimming, bush walks, mountain biking, kayaking, within a small town providing all amenities and quality cafes and restaurants. If you love the beach, summer sun and the freedom to relax, then just bring lots of sun-screen and time. the bach is available most of the time excluding Christmas and January (as we are there). The best time there is February or March when the days are sunny, warm and long, and the water is refreshing and beckoning.
