About our home

We built our house in 1987, and 4 years ago with the the help of an architect,interior designer and a great builder, we had it redesigned and completely rebuilt. The house is well appointed with an open plan kitchen, living and dining room. The kitchen is a great place to cook and entertain, with stainless steel and marble bench tops, French doors opening directly from the kitchen and living room onto a large deck and private subtropical garden.
We enjoy close sea views from many of the rooms. The master bedroom complete with its own sitting room, tiled bathroom and office occupies the entire third level of the house, offering us a private escape where we can see and hear the ocean while laying in bed.

More about us

We are Brent and Jo, both in our early 50's, Brent is a New Zealander and Jo is originally from Canada, we have two grown children. We both have enjoyed successful careers and have taken the opportunity to retire while still young. We spend every January and February on our boat, which means our house is vacant during the best part of the summer, we therefore have the opportunity to exchange houses on a simultaneous or non simultaneous basis.
Jo is a keen golfer and Brent loves his flyfishing, we also want to experience other cultures not as tourists, but by "living" in another country.
We have not undertaken a house swap previously, however we have successfully swapped our boat on a similar basis.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Our house is located in Murrays Bay on Aucklands North Shore, approximately 20 minutes from downtown and 50 minutes from the airport. We live in a quite cul-de-sac, with direct access to a coastal walkway and safe swimming beaches. Two nearby coastal villages offer a good choice of restaurants and a variety of shopping, all accessible on foot. The area has a relaxed holiday and beach feel about it.
Our house would be an ideal base in order for you to explore New Zealand.
