About our home

Our weatherboard bungalow is a much-loved family home, renovated in 2009 to meet the needs of a young family. We have 4 bedrooms - 1 currently used as a home office, 1 nursery with cot, one childrens' bedroom with 2 single beds and 1 master bedroom with fitted wardrobes and ensuite bathroom. It's comfortable year-round, with double glazing, heat pumps/air conditioning, big bifold doors opening to a large deck and grassy back garden with vegetable patch. The kitchen has walk in pantry, separate laundry room, modern appliances including induction hob and dishwasher, and a large island bench with bar seating. Our living space is open-plan, large, warm and light, with a combination of hardwood floors and carpet. We have 2 tiled bathrooms (1 with bath), 2 flat screen TVs, lots of kids' toys, 2 highchairs - all you need for a comfortable family holiday. We love it here! WE ARE ALSO OFFERING A 3 BEDROOM HOLIDAY HOME ON WAIHEKE ISLAND - an island of white sand beaches, vineyards and olive groves just 35 mins by ferry from downtown Auckland. Non-simultaneous exchange is possible.

More about us

  1. We're Andrew and Kate, a married couple with 2 young children (aged 1 & 3). Andrew works in IT, and Kate in communications. We're keen to swap with other families with children - our home is a great base for travelling with kids, and a fun place to stay put for a while too. We've travelled extensively, but not yet with kids - house-swapping seems like a good approach and we're keen to give it a go and make it work! We're travelling to San Francisco in April 2010 for a family wedding.

Where is it?

We live in a typical central Auckland suburb, with lots of interesting shops, cafes, restaurants, parks and an arthouse cinema in walking distance (some just at the end of our street). Lots of interesting foodie shops if you like to cook. Great bus route into the city centre, close to Mt Eden, Auckland Domain & Museum, not far to West Coast beaches.
