About our home

We have a spacious (200m2) ground floor waterfront apartment in St Heliers in Auckland. It has 2 large double bedrooms and a well equipped office, with 2 bathrooms (one en-suite), a balcony, a patio garden/breakfast area, and unlimited use of an in-ground swimming pool and all-weather tennis court in the complex. We have broadband internet, Sky (cable) TV and fortnightly cleaning service. There is secure underground parking and the use of a car and 4 bicycles, as well as two kayaks and a surfboard. There is also the availability of a absolute waterfront 2 bedroom apartment in Sydney harbour, with spectacular views of the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The apartment is a 2 minute walk from the ferry terminal and 10 minutes by ferry to the Opera House.

More about us

  1. My partner (Pete) and I (Celeste) are in our forties and both doctors. Pete is an Intensive Care Specialist/Anaesthetist and I am a Sports Physician. Pete has a sabbatical in Paris for 4 months and I will be joining him. We both love travelling and meeting local people. We are very keen to arrange an exchange for this time, and to encourage someone else to experience the beauty of New Zealand.

Where is it?

We have a very nice quiet sandy beach across the road and several restaurants within a few minutes walking distance. We are also on the main city bus routes and it is only 15 minutes into the city centre. Auckland is called the City of Sails and offers excellent sailing, shopping, cultural attractions, vineyards, beaches and adrenaline sports, all within an hours' drive. There is skiing, as well as several world renowned attractions such as the volcanic activity of Rotorua and the beautiful Bay of Islands within a 4 hr drive.
