About our home

Historical Ripiro Beach is a short drive or walk away and offers 100 kilometres of romantic walks or challenging four wheel driving. Our apartment is luxuriously appointed with all modern amenities including modern kitchen, bathrooms and living area. We have a double bedroom upstairs with kitchen and ensuite with a double bedroom and ensuite downstairs. There is a large garage and study.
With beautiful sea views and wonderful sunsets the deck offers unsurpassed late afternoon relaxing.
We love living here as it feels like a resort with all the comforts of home.

More about us

We are a semi retired couple in our 60's and 70's who have worked and lived in the Dargaville area most of our lives.
The Ripiro apartment is a development project which we have recently completed.
We are active and enjoy the outdoors and all the area offers. We love to travel and last year spent 10 weeks in Europe mostly in France, Italy, Croatia and Greece. Max regularly takes his boat out, off the beach and catches lots of fresh fish including snapper and kahawai.
Lorraine sells Real Estate in and around Dargaville, our town and at Baylys beach where we live.
We enjoy the village lifestyle at the beach, walks along the beach and the relaxed beach community.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Georgeous views of the ocean and magnificent sunsets. You may even see the famous "Green Flash". Baylys Beach can either be relaxing and chilled out with romantic walks on the endless beach or adventurous four wheel driving, fishing in the ocean or trout fishing in the well known Kai Iwi, fresh water lakes.
A challenging golf course is only a 2 minute drive with very modest fees around $ 15.00.
Just around the corner and a 5 minute walk is the Funky Fish which is a much featured and awarded Cafe by NZ Cusine Magazine and is fully licensed.
Historical Waipua Forest and Trounson Park where the world famous Kauri Trees are located is only an hour away. Some trees are 1,000's of years old. You can go for guided bush walks at night to hear our national bird the Kiwi.
The Kauri Coast is a naturally historic area. Turn of SH1 onto SH12 and visit the Matakohe Museum on your way here. Other attractions when you get here are Dargaville Martime Museum and Kaipara Harbour where over 160 shipwrecks have occurred.
