“Cherye & Jill made us most welcome to their home. Booking their home through emails was easy and clear cut. Picking us up from the airport after our long journey was simply very generous of them & this made our arrival to Aukland completely stress free. We had the use of their car which was an added bonus for us. We had a fabulous time in Aukland with lots of useful tips from the ladies about visiting the city. Their home has a magnificent view over Castor Bay & watching the ever changing sky was indeed memorable. Their home was spotless & very comfortable. We would highly recommend Cherye & Jills home if heading to Aukland. ”

About our home
In addition to our "available" dates, when we will be away from our home, we are open to having "guests" stay with us. We have accomodation for 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom that can be used while we are also living in our home. So, we would consider having you in our home while we are living and working in it. We would share the kitchen and living space. Please read on....
We are listed at 250 points per night for 2 reasons. First, the use of the house may also include the use of our 2 SUVs, for the right people. There are several considerations that we would need to discuss, but this is an option. Also, the 250 would apply to our "high season" which would be December through March. For out of season, and not using our car(s), it would be 200 points per night. If we would be sharing our space with guests, the points fee would go to 100 points per night. Also, we can arrange for a cleaner, but there would be a cash payment required for this service.
Kia Ora - We live in the worlds greatest playground. The beach and local community await you. Our home is ideally situated for a true Kiwi experience. We are in a safe upscale neighborhood with great access to Auckland city and other tourist activities on the North Island via public transport. From the home you can walk the 300 metres to the beach and go for a nice swim. Walk the beautiful beaches at any tide. There are a myriad of options for day trips in the area to see the sites. So, no need to even have a car if you want to avoid that with a short bus ride to the Ferry and then out to Waiheke Island, Great Barrier Island, and beyond.
We are a couple with no kids, so the house is not necessarily "kid safe" but it is 'Kid friendly". The house is relatively modern, clean and comfortable with a large open plan living/dining room (with a stunning view), large garage, and back garden. There is also a in home gym. But sorry, no pets. So, have a look on the internet to see where this magic place is, and then consider spending your holidays in the "land of the long white cloud".

“Cherye and Gill’s home is in a superb location on the north shore of Auckland, with fabulous views over the bay from the deck and kitchen. The house is in a quiet and attractive suburb (Milford) with local shops and green space next to a small harbour. The house is very comfortable and airy and we particularly enjoyed relaxing on the luxury reclining chairs watching Net-flicks when the weather was stormy on a couple of days. The bus into town is at the end of the path (journey takes 45 minutes). Taxi from the airport costs $100-130 or you can use the bus into town and catch ‘Sky bus’ round the corner from where it drops you off ($11 plus $16). This is a great base for exploring Auckland and accessing wonderful boat trips out to the islands. ”
“Gill and Cherye are very welcoming hosts, We only required the use of some of the apartment and had access to all of it. Spectacular view of Rangitoto Island and walking distance to Milford beach. We paid extra for the use of Gills brand new SUV which worked well for us. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday very close to the beach and all amenities. ”
“Absolutely wonderful hosts. House is in an incredible location. Cherye and Gill pulled out all the stops for us.”
“Excellent guests. Would never know they had stayed (which means they were the perfect guests). Love them to stay again. ”
“It was a delight to host Cherye. Our accommodation is situated beside our residence and we were happy to have Cherye as a neighbour and both parties were able to keep their privacy. A great summer holiday in Akaroa.”

We generally prefer to travel to from mid June to late August, which of course is our winter and/or during the Christmas holidays. Happy to swap or take points. We are a professional female couple in our 50s. We do not have children, and therefore our home is not approriate for small children. We would consider a family with kids over 15 years of age.

Our home is large and well equiped with 3 bedrooms and a studio room that is used as an office. There are 4 bathrooms. We are a 5 min walk to a lovely beach and 15 min walk to local shopping mall and cafe's. The house is uniquely located to allow you to see much of Auckland and the North Island by bus and ferry. So, no need for a car if you are willing to walk a bit to the ferry or pay for a short taxi ride .

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
Quiet suburban neighborhood of high end homes. About 5 min walk to the beach from our front door, down a walking path, over the bridge across the inlet to the marina, and into Milford park and beach. Beautiful beach that is white sand with gentle small waves. Great for swimming. Our home is on a ridge with 180 degree view over the Hauraki Gulf to Rangitoto Island and also to the city of Auckland.
Short walk to bus stops that will take you into Takapuna in 10 min, or into the city in about 40 min.
If you have a car you are literally, 30 min to the city to the south and 30 min to rural bush land to the north.
