About our home

Our home is located in a sheltered but sunny valley surrounded by trees. It overlooks a tennis and bowling club. It has four bedrooms. The main bedroom has an en-suite. The others share a separate bathroom, shower and toilet. There is also a separate laundry. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, oven, freezer-fridge.

David and Helga are High school teachers. We have two children, Liam aged seven and Caitlin aged four. We are both non-smokers.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Cashmere is a hill suburb to the south of Christchurch. The city centre is about a 15 minutes drive away and the beaches at Sumner are about 20 minutes away. Christchurch is very pleasant place to live and is known as "the Garden city" and has a large botanical garden at Hagley Park near the city centre. There are several beaches on the eastern side of the city. Walking trails, mountain bike tracks, scenic drives are on the Port Hills less than 10 minutes by car. Christchurch is also a major cultural centre with museums, art galleries and concert venues. Christchurch is an ideal base for day trips to Akaroa, a French village on Banks Peninsula. Hanmer Springs, a thermal resort with hot spring complex is 90 minutes to the north. There are a number of ski fields, all within 90 minutes drive from Christchurch. Whale watching and swimming with dolphins is also possible within a drive of 2 hours. To the west are the Southern Alps.
