Extensive rural, sea and mountain views. Opportunities for day trips to Mount Cook, Lakes Tekapo/ Pukaki, Moeraki Boulders, historic Oamaru and other places. Several ski-fields between 1 and 2 hours drive.

More about us

Where is it?

A rural area with farms and life style blocks. The nearest neighbour is 250 metres away so peace and quiet is the norm. Very little light polution so a great opportunity to view the milky way. Rural roads are easy for biking and most drivers are used to people on bikes and horses. There are lots of walks and bike tracks around Timaru.

Buzzy restaurants
Timaru has plenty of restaurants with a variety of cuisines
Cool bars
There must be some but I do not partake. Much prefer a good wine and some friends at home.
Cozy cafés
Several dotted around Timaru Stafford street.
Retail therapy
Timaru or Christchurch
Bit of culture
The rock art centre is a must see. Lots of Maori rock art in the area. Aigantighe gallery for arts. Lots of old buildings in Timaru. Oamaru Steam Punk museum is a must.
Walks in the park
Along the board-walk, Caroline Bay Timaru
Spot of exercise
Biking around here there and anywhere. Local rotary has a group that goes biking every Thursday morning. Some members are getting on so it is all about getting there together and enjoying the coffee.
Day tripping
Moeraki Boulders, just past Oamaru (1.5hr), have lunch or dinner at Fleurs, world famous fish restaurant. Mount cook. Lake Tekapo church of the good shepherd overlooking the lake.
