About our home

I designed and built my beach house in 2010 over looking the white sand of Cooks beach, in Mercury Bay. I love living here and sharing my home with family and friends. Down stairs is open plan living with kitchen, dining and lounge opening up onto a large deck all looking out to sea, with table/benches and loungers. Upstairs the main queen bedroom opens out onto a private balcony looking over the Bay. There is a shared ensuite with the second queen bedroom which looks out on the Bay and across farm land. The bunk room is off the large wrap around deck and is accessed through the back door which leads to the laundry and extra WC.
The back terrace is set up with a woodfired pizza oven, firepit, BBQ area and table and chairs for alfresco dining. As a designer and landscaper I have planted palms, agaves, hibiscus and many subtropical plants to form a very colourful and coastal garden to compliment my beach house. You will love spending time here as I do.

More about us

  1. My family have living here for 30 years and I moved to Cooks beach 17 yrs ago after being asked to landscape a large coastal property here.
I have so many happy memories with my children spending holidays
building sand castles, fishing from the ferry wharf, diving for mussels and paua (abalony), snorkeling around the reefs, sailing in the Bay,
midnight swims, bonfires, kayaking into the caves, walking the tracks and now i'm doing it all over again with my grandchildren!!
My work as a landscape and interior designer is a great lifestyle to have here as I can choose to go travelling, work, or just wander the beaches with Max, my Westhighland terrier!!
