About our home

Part of a 600 ha. private, gated, conservation estate this architecturally designed home offers total privacy, tranquility and luxury in a beautiful bit of wild New Zealand. The house is newly built and has won design and sustainable home awards. Large glass doors open up to a spacious deck surrounded by epiphyte laden trees. The surrounding forest is spectacular with many rare birds and plants. NZ has no snakes or other nasties! Contrasting with the surroundings the house is the epitome of luxury. The master bedroom has an ensuite with heated stone floor and full height sliding glass doors on 2 sides that open the room to the outdoors so you can enjoy the dawn chorus. The sun rises over the valley which stretches to the coast some 20 kms away. At night only one light is visible from a farmhouse 8 kms down the valley ensuring a night sky that has to be seen to be believed. You can enjoy these views while luxuriating in outdoor stone bath. The second bedroom has a bed that can be twin or kingsize and its own bathroom. In the living rooms there is a very high quality sound system, home theatre, library and spectacular forest views all around. We love cooking/eating and the kitchen reflects this! Below the house a beautiful forest stream cascades through our land. 5 minutes walk from the house we have our own stunning 20 metre waterfall with natural pools for swimming - a favourite place for sharing a picnic and great bottle of New Zealand wine - in splendid seclusion. Coromandel Peninsula is renowned for its beautiful beaches (uncrowded in all but peak season) The coast and shops are 20 minutes drive away. Auckland with its international airport is 2.5 hours away. The city can be reached by road, plane or ferry.
