About our home

My home is comfortable, clean and spacious. It is a 1960s weatherboard house surrounded by a largish garden and lawns. (Note that the photos are taken in mid winter. Exchange dates are for the New Zealand spring).

There are 3 bedrooms for use, plus a pull-out sofa bed. I haven't yet posted a photo of the third bedroom which is small but has 2 beds.

More about us

My name is Ingrid. I want to stay in Israel, visit my relatives again and finally get to grips with learning Hebrew. I am 66 years old. I have stayed in Israel a few times in the past but now I have the time to focus on the language.
I am a keen walker, read lots, and enjoy visiting art galleries and museums.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The house is 5 minutes walk from the shopping area which is full of cafes and restaurants. Greytown is a local tourist destination for city folks wanting a day out in a rural area. The region is largely a sheep and dairy farming area plus wine growing.

30 minutes away are mountains and forest parks for walking and climbing. In another small country town 30 minutes away is a wine growing area full of vineyards and restaurants.

There is an excellent train service to Wellington the capital city. 5 trains run Monday-Friday and one on Saturdays and Sundays. The train journey takes 70 minutes plus a 10 minute mini-bus ride to the train station.
