About our home

Our one bedroom apartment is suitable for a couple travelling together. Its fully self contained well laid out 50sqm, with kitchen, laundry, lounge/dining and separate bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Only a minute walk across to the village of Havelock North, with all the shops, restaurants, bars and supermarkets.

We are only 15 minutes to an ocean beach, where there is good surfing, fishing, swimming and long walks. We have two small cities close by, which are Hastings and Napier only 10 minutes and 20 minutes respectively. There are numerous wineries and fabulous restaurants close at hand. The apartment is semi-attached to our main house which may also be available depending on time of year. Car available. Visit website for further info on the apartment. www.havelocknorthnz.com . Very private and set in a garden setting with covered car parking available.

The main house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms , kitchen, dining room and lounge. Recently refurbished throughout our home is located in the quiet village of Havelock North in the Hawkes Bay. We are situated on a large leafy section complete with outdoor swimming pool and lush gardens. Very handy to surrounding vineyards, tramping, cycling, golf courses and beaches. The majority of couples just use the apartment, however larger families have the main house available on request. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOlh73exSS4&t=247s

More about us

  1. My wife works for a large Governement Dept and I was in real estate for 16 years working here in the village, now retired. We have two adult children, with our daughter and partner living a few minutes away and they have two adorable boys at 4 & 3. We also have son who lives in Mount Maunganui with his wife and 2 girls aged 7 & 5. We both love traveling and have already completed a number of house exchanges in France in September 09 and Italy in late 2015 and again in 2019 staying in Greece and Italy. We have a car available for your use here in Havelock North.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The immediate area is all residential housing only a minutes walk to the supermarket in the village. Havelock North has long enjoyed its reputation as the "HEART OF WINE COUNTRY", Hawkes Bay. Nestled in between the Heretaunga Plains and the legendary Te Mata Peak, our village's intimate and small population lends itself to exquisite winery and dining opportunities. Filled with unique buildings dating from the late 1800s as well as parks and gardens, Havelock North has a lush feel which contrasts with the browned off pastures of late summer. The 'village' was opened up for settlement by the Provincial Government in 1860 and by the early 1900's a number of architects had left their mark with unique buildings that can still be seen. In addition, a programme of tree planting has seen the 'village' develop a distinctly lush feel that contrasts markedly with the rest of the Heretaunga Plains which are known for their long hot summers. Havelock North can appear like a green oasis against the hills and provides a pleasant respite from the crops and browned off pastures in late summer.
