About our home

Nestled in the hills in an area of outstanding natural beauty, our home looks from Te Mata Peak in the south across the vineyards of Black Barn and Te Mata Estate to the ocean and ranges in the north. It has all the pleasures that a newly built, architect designed home can bring. Timber double glazed joinery, insulation, central heating and solar hot water provide the essential comforts for both winter and summer.
We have four large bedrooms, 3 upstairs and one down all enjoying their own spectacular view. There is one super king bed, one king single and one single bed in the upstairs bedrooms and two single beds in the bedroom downstairs.
The fully equipped kitchen provides everything needed for entertaining. A six burner gas freestanding cooker with electric oven, a double door fridge freezer with filtered water and ice maker, a large central island unit, and a butlers pantry with dish washer and separate sink that can be shut off from the rest of the kitchen.
The dining area adjoins the kitchen and can seat up to 10. There are 2 sets of double French doors leading on to the wrap around, north facing deck. Bifold opening windows to both the north and the east facing aspects allow you to enjoy the out doors whilst sitting on the window seats in the dining area.
The lounge area has a wood burning stove for those cosy nights in front of a good movie.
There is a full laundry with a door leading to the west side of the house. The bathrooms are all fully tiled and the kitchen, diner and hall downstairs are covered with American Oak and the rest of the house is carpeted.
There are 2 bathrooms, one upstairs, one down and a separate WC upstairs. The family bathroom upstairs has a large tiled shower, double vanity unit and a 2 person freestanding bath with a view to die for! The downstairs bathroom has a very well appointed shower, basin and WC.
There is a large, flat, lawned garden adjoining a paddock down a steep slope. Our friendly farm animals comprise of Ducks and Chooks, and a couple of sheep.

More about us

  1. We are a family of four. My husband and I are both Chiropractors and had the privilege of emigrating to New Zealand from the UK 5 years ago. Our two, well behaved children are 10 and 12. As a family we love to travel and experience life together and would be delighted to look after your home with the same respect that we give our own special house. We are tidy, clean, respectful professionals and we would be delighted to hear from you wherever you are. We would love to exchange houses both in New Zealand and abroad.

Where is it?

We are situated just five minutes from the Village of Havelock North in Hawkes Bay Wine Country or a gentle 20 minute stroll. The house overlooks Black Barn Vineyard and its internationally acclaimed restaurant. Come and experience the beauty and serenity of Havelock North and its stunning region of contrasts in the "Heart of Wine Country". The "Jewel of the Bay" Havelock North residential area and town nestle on the north facing slopes of the legendary Te Mata Peak, overlooking the fertile Heretaunga Plains toward snow laden mountains in winter and plentiful orchard and crop growing land in the summer.
Our intimate little village and small population enjoy some of New Zealand's exquisite winery and dining experiences, excellent variety of shopping, and world class olives, cheese and honey products.

There is SO much to do and experience here in Hawkes Bay that I can not possibly describe it to you in a few words. I would recommend looking at www.hawkesbaynz.com for information but rest assured that there is something for everyone from wine to food to cycling, paragliding, surfing, museums, tramping (hiking), fishing, hunting, ..............
