About our home
Our house is aspacious warm 3 bed room, 2 bathroom house. It has large lounge with log burner also heatpump that keeps the whole house cosy in winter, seperate kitchen with dining table. We have 30 acres of land on the rise with a grandstand view of the kakanui range mountains, snow covers the mountains in winter. We have a sunny conservatory and out door area with
out door fire and barbaque. All rooms have large glass doors with all round views of the surounding country side.

We are Pat and Bill a fifty something couple we have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. I am a retired chef,and now spend my time sewing for the victorian market we have every sunday and Bill is a fisherman. Our summers are very busy with our work and we always take a break in the winter. We have had 3 house swaps 1 to San francisco and 2 to Australia,we have enjoyed them all meeting new people and being out of the tourist areas,we would like 1-2 months away next year,

Where is it?

We are 7kms from Oamaru it is very central for touring the south island. It has a harbour with an exellent restaurant and viewing platform for the blue penguins that nest in the area. It is renowned for its fine Victorian buildings. Three golf courses. River lake and sea fishing. Plenty of restaurants, pubs and interesting shops. 1 hour to lakes, 10 minutes to beaches, 2hrs to mt Cook, 3hrs to Christchurch. 2hrs to Dunedin, 3hrs to Queenstown. Also within half hourdrive are the elephant rocks where the Narnia movie was filmed. Maori cave drawings and Moeraki boulders are amust see.we are 2-3 hours from all the south island sky fields
