About our home

Our home is comfortable, clean and cosy. It is light and airy with large opening doors from the kitchen and dining/living area, the main bedroom has its own toilet and bath, their is a second double bedroom in the main house and a third double bedroom with its own toilet and handbasin detached from the main house. Off the lounge their is a large deck with a jacuzzi (this area is screened and private) their is also a gas B.B.Q on this deck.

More about us

We are Glen and Colleen married with four children and seven grandchildren All the children have left home, I am 61 and Colleen is 59, we own our own business in the Manawatu. We have visted Europe in 1999 (coach tour) and in 2004 (we leased a car for 6 weeks), and 2007 (we also leased a car)we also visited Europe again in 2010 we wish to start planning another trip to Europe from late May to early Sept 2013 and this time we wish to do several home exchanges, so please drop us a line

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Our home is in a small seaside village of about 500 permanent residents which grows at weekends and holiday times. Their is a local shop for all your daily needs, with a small town (Foxton) 15 kms away where their is a supermarket, post office, banks, etc. Also in our village their is a Cossie Club (small tavern type place where you can have a drink or meal or both). The place is very friendly and everyone you meet will greet you with a cheery hello etc. We are situated only 500 metres from the beach where at low tide you can drive in either direction for about 10 kms, (we have our own beach buggy/made up old car for travelling on the beach). We are 30kms from Palmerston North (population 67,000). One and a half hours drive from Wellington (Capital City) two hours either to the east coast (Napier/Hastings) or the mountains or to Taranaki, as you can see we are very central to most attraction in the lower North Island. Ski fields are 90 minutes away at Mt Ruapehu.
