About our home

Our large family home is spacious and comfortable, a great place to relax after exploring the region. A private location, sitting at the base of the Kaimais. The house consists of 4 double bedrooms and an additional separate one bedroom sleep-out with ensuite and separate lounge/dining area. There is a spa pool for your use and also a pond for a quick dip if you dare, as it is fed by an underground spring (our water source) and is pretty chilly!!! We have a lifestyle block of aprox 12 acres and run sheep and a few deer and a couple of chooks on the property. We are a 7 minute drive to our local township of Katikati. An easy 2 hour drive to Auckland.

More about us

  1. We are Tobin and Donna a married couple with 3 teenage girls, Alice, Aimee and Libby. We currently have 4, as we have Katie an exchange student from Germany.
Tobin is a self employed builder and Donna runs an import wholesale company.
We like to be active, Tobin with his cycling and hunting and Donna with her tennis and running.... around after the girls!!
We are coming over to England to visit family in April 2014 so thought it would be a good opportunity to start the home exchange process.

Where is it?

The lovely town of Katikati is a great base for exploring the central North Island and beyond. Katikati (often referred to as the mural town of NZ) has some interesting history depicted within the murals. Waihi Beach: A 15 minute drive away is the beautiful Waihi Beach with lovely white sand and is one of the safest beaches in NZ. Coastal and Bush Walks: Kaimai Ranges: It is only a matter of a 10-15 minute drive to access the many walks throughout the Kaimai ranges. Orakawa Bay: From the north end of Waihi Beach you can take the track over to Orakawa Bay (45 mins) or carry on to Homunga (2.5 hours) returning the same way. This is a great picturesque coastal walk. Karangahake Gorge: The Karangahake Gorge between Waihi and Paeroa is packed with gold-mining history, and there are a variety of walks show casing this history. Tauranga and Mount Maunganui: The city of Tauranga is a half an hours drive away, and the Port and Beach of Mount Maunganui is a 40 minute drive. Rotorua: This Cultural Centre and Thermal Wonderland is less than an hours drive away.
