Where is it?

Cozy cafés
You can canoe or catch a water taxi across our bay to the Kawau Boat Club which is open from late October until early June each year. Here you can dine or just sit on the edge of the water enjoying a wine or beer. Davo and Robyn who run the place are great world travellers and passionate about Kawau Island. Make sure you introduce yourself!
Retail therapy
No shops - we love that!
Bit of culture
Wander over to Mansion House Bay (an easy 25 minute walk) to visit the house of the Governor Grey.
Walks in the park
Kawau Island is where we come to unplug from life in the city. It is for those people who love getting away from it all, enjoy nature, love the sea, and enjoy the peace of a natural setting. The loudest noise will be the morning chorus of native birds calling to each other
Spot of exercise
The tracks from our house are very good for trail running. Watch out for the native fantail bird; - curious and cheeky wee thing that might try to follow you
Day tripping
You can catch a water taxi to the mainland, a short trip and beautiful. From there it is easy to visit Matakana, at the heart of the local wine industry.
