About our home

Our house is at the bottom of a private road overlooking a national park, a creek and the Kerikeri golf course practice range. This very quiet and private location is only two minutes from the township and 10 minutes from the airport. The ground floor consists of an entry, double garage with auto door and internal access, laundry, shower, toilet, sauna room and sauna. At the rear of the house is a hot spa pool set in a sub tropical garden under the stars. Upstairs there is a large lounge with cable tv, dining area, gourmet kitchen, master bedroom with ensuite and queen size bed, guest bedroom with double bed, guest bathroom and office with broadband internet access. Décor is light, bright and very comfortable. The lounge and dining area have double sliding doors opening onto a large balcony with outdoor furniture and gas barbeque. The downstairs spa can also be accessed from the balcony. We feel that the house is unsuitable for young children because of the stairs and proximity to the creek.

More about us

  1. My husband I are both in our sixties My husband, an engineer, was born in Finland and educated in Sweden. I was born in Scotland and operated my own financial planning practice. We lived in Australia for over 30 years including many years in the tropics, before retiring to the Bay of Islands just over 6 years ago. Having experienced extremes of climate over the years we found that the sub tropical climate of the Bay of Islands was just perfect to allow us to enjoy our pastimes all year round. We spend a lot of time on our boat, fishing, diving, swimming or just cruising. (We will be happy to take non consecutive visitors cruising in the Bay) My husband plays golf as often as he can and we both enjoy gardening. We love to travel and visit our families who are scattered all over the globe. We have had two house exchange holidays with a third planned for Nov 2010 and found both holidays to be really enjoyable. Our home is only 5 years old and we treat it with TLC as we would with your property. We will be happy to answer any questions by email or telephone. My husband is fluent in Finnish, Swedish, English, Norwegian, and can get by in Spanish and German. Welcome and we hope you will enjoy your stay in the beautiful Bay of Islands.
