Our home is a full of character, art, antiques and collectables. We have developed and extensive garden with many lovely spots to sit and soak up the mountain air.
We are surrounded by fabulous hiking trails and an extensive network of cycle tracks. There are two (non electric) bikes available for guests to use while you are in our home or there are a number of bike hire providers in Wanaka and surrounding areas.
We have two fires - one wood and one gas, as well as underfloor heating, so we are never cold. Then of course there is springtime which is special wherever you are.
We are an outdoor loving, semi retired couple.
Paul loves hiking in the hills while Toni is more likely to be found on the fantastic mountain bike and cycle trails in the region.
Toni is a 'maker' and actively enjoys a wide variety of arts and crafts and together we have developed a beautiful garden on our half acre growing lots of vegetables, flowers and native plants.
Less than a five minute walk to Lake Hawea or a 20 minute drive into Wanaka.
Lake Hawea is nestled into the Southern Alps of New Zealand approximately 75 minutes from Queenstown - the nearest domestic and trans Tasman airport. Lake Hawea village is small but you can get your basic supplies and great food and coffee at the Hawea Store and Kitchen or head to the Hawea Hotel for drinks and a restaurant meal. Wanaka is fully serviced by supermarkets and great shopping and is only 20 minutes away by car. Queenstown is another option for even more great adventures.

One of the things we love most about the area is that we fully experience the four seasons. In summer it is hot - usually in the mid to high 20's and occasionally reaching into the 30's. Our outdoor area makes the most of the afternoon sun long into the evenings. Autumn is glorious, usually calm and still with brilliant colouring as the trees transition through the seasons. Winter is special - we love seeing the snow on the mountain tops and enjoy hunkering down in our warm home.
