About our home

Ours is a comfortable home within a spectacular environment.
To the rear, bush clad hills rising steeply from the sea. In front, Wellington harbour, to the open sea with views of the Kaikoura mountains of the south island, and ferries and other ships coming and going to the city. Wonderful views from all rooms. This is our only home. We work in nearby Wellington City, and commute daily via the ferry which leaves from the wharf in the bay below the house.

More about us

We are a professional couple, both working in government as manager and advisor respectively. English, residing permanently in NZ, but needing to visit UK periodically to keep in touch with elderly parent and family/friends. This will be our first exchange and we need a house which will sleep 6-8 to facilitate a family reunion. We want to arrange this well in advance so we can liaise with our potential exchangees and get to know them.
Others outside England looking for a NZ base in 2008 are welcome to get in contact.
We have a 14 year old daughter.
We own two cars, a cat, and do not smoke.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Eastbourne is a lovely harbour-side community, with good local shops, cafes/eateries. Regular transport by bus to Lower Hutt and Wellington (40mins)and a ferry to the city (25mins). Wellington harbour is wonderful in all weathers, and it is only a 3hr ferry ride to the South Island. Nearby vineyards in the Wairarapa, or in Marlborough.
Wellington is a lovely city, easy to get round, cultured, attractive, bound by hills and sea.
