About our home

Modern single level home in a semi-rural neighborhood.

Master bedroom has an ensuite toilet and shower and a walk in wardrobe. Second bedroom has queen bed and its own bathroom and toilet and is separate from the master bedroom (two couples can feel quite private sharing our home). There is a possible third bedroom with a single bed if this is necessary.

The house is set so that it faces north and therefore gets all day sun (remember we are in the southern hemisphere!). A large terrace runs along this north face where you will find us enjoying our morning coffee or lunch most days. The view from this terrace is into the Wakatipu Basin and is dominated by Coronet Peak where, in the winter, there is one of Queenstowns two major ski fields.

On the west side of the house a large sliding door opens out to another terrace with a barbeque.

We have all the usual electrical appliances, underfloor heating makes it cosy and warm in the winter with the help of a large gas fire. There is plenty of parking outside and, depending on the exchange, the garage may or may not have space for a vehicle.

More about us

  1. We are both retired and are looking to do a bit of travel before we are too old and frail! Greg enjoys walking and hiking while Janette plays a bit of golf.

In 2015 we spent two glorious months in France enjoying a spectacular summer while back at home our neighbours endured one of the coldest winters for many a year.

We are looking to repeat the same thing this year with a trip through Eastern Europe then onto the UK for a taste of an English summer.

Where is it?

The house is located in the sought after semi-rural suburb of Quail Rise about 10 min drive from central Queenstown with all its bars and restaurants.

Queenstown International Airport is only 5 min by car and has daily flights from Australia all year round. During the summer and the winter ski season there are heaps of flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

We do all our shopping at Remarkables Park Shopping Centre adjacent to the airport where there is a major supermarket and just about every other type of shop you would need for your daily living needs.

Another 10 min or so in the other direction is the quaint historical village of Arrowtown.

There is just so much to do in Queenstown (and its environs) that it would take too long to list. Instead visit the official Destination Queenstown website for a tantalizing look at what the region has to offer!
