About our home

Our beach house overlooks Mahanga beach, it faces due east so you can see the sunrise.
A two storey building has the main living upstairs with two bedrooms kitchen and shower + toilet.
Downtsairs a large area with table tennis table set up two couches convert to double beds a shower and toilet.
The kitchen has a full size stove + a mini stove and grill, this is electric. Couches and easy chair + dining table and chairs make this an easy living beach house.

We also offer our main residence for a non simultaneous swop , see exchange No 6080 .

The Mahia Peninsular is famous for its beaches and rocky coastline.
Swimming fishing and surfing are all done frim these beaches.
Access to the beach is through the reserve. There is 5 km of white sand.Often you'll find that you're the only one on it. Swimming is safe , though you have to get through the surf, which can be fun.!
Walking around the area is easy and you can walk over the rocks to the boat harbour, which is very quiet and peaceful.Around the region are many walks + hot springs with plunge pools of various temperatures .
Gisborne is 1 hours drive away to the north and wineries abound ,it being the Chardonnay region of the North Island.

Both Mary & I (David) are retired . Mary speaks some French and goes to classes, I manage to get by !
Our house and garden take a lot of time, but Mary enjoys it
In 2006 we spent time in both Germany and France two weeks in each country. The South of France appeals to us. We enjoy the food and the beaches and of course the history. Last year we stayed in Villefranche, near Nice, Montengnac and the Loire Valley from which we explored the countryside of those regions.
Our 3 children have all married and we now have 6 grandchildren, which give us great pleasure. It's fortunate for us that they all live in the North Island.
