About our home

A lovely old villa with French doors that lead out onto a deck and enclosed courtyard. The house is easy care, cosy and warm. It has three bedrooms; one is used as a office. Outside there a double garage, sheds. The property is fenced and private. with lots of trees, set on half and acre of ground.

More about us

We are both nurses, in our mid 50's. We have three adult children, one of whom lives in London. Steve's parents and siblings live in Lancashire. We are widely travelled but would like a base when we visit England, around Aug - Sept 07
We both have interests outside our work, mine is making herbal remedies (see the homepage) and Steve's is writing.

Where is it?

Situated in a popular residential area on the rural fringe of Masterton, the property is approximately 2 kg from the town centre and close to rail. Wellington the captial city is 1.5 hours away by train or car.

There is a local shop within easy walking distance if you forget the milk! The Tararua mountains, which can be seen from the front of the house, offer walks of varying difficulties. The whole area is surrounded by rivers, lakes and bush.

Masterton is situated in the Wairarapa (population approximately 40 thousand) and is a lively place on the tourist map especially for those who enjoy wine - as the local vineyards at Martinborough are world famous.
