About our home

We are a family of 5. Our children are 12, 10 and 7. We enjoy snow skiing and would love to go skiing in the Northern hemisphere.
Our family is looking to swap with someone who is keen to come to a warm and sunny part of New Zealand in January or February. The Nelson area boasts the highest sunshine hours in New Zealand.

Our house has a rural setting and is only 5 minutes from Motueka, a small town with all modern facilities necessary. E.g. Restaurants, cafes, golf courses, tennis courts, etc. Many outdoor activities are within a short distance including mountain biking, parachuting, scenic flights, water skiing to name a few.

Motueka is the gateway to two very exciting National Parks. The most famous is the Abel Tasman National Park which is world famous for its golden beaches and clear blue water. These days people have the options of either walking, kayaking or taking a more lesisurely boat ride within this stunning part of New Zealand.

"Kahurangi" is the second National Park within a 30 minute drive. Its beauty is its lush native bush and sparkling rivers and streams within the mountains to the west of Motueka.
"Lord of the Rings" filmed some its more spectacular scene's in this National park.

More about us

My name is Evan Heywood and Iam an orchard owner and manager. Our business grows, packs and markets apples and kiwifruit to many export destinations.
My wife Desiree is the Clinical nurse manager at the local hospital.
We have 3 children whom all attend local schools.
The whole family enjoys many different sports and other outdoor activities, especially our snow skiing.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The house is located in a rural part of Motueka with no immediate neighbours. We have a beautiful view of the southern alps to the west.
The Motueka river is a 10 minute walk from the house and is a popular swimming spot in the summer.
Beautiful beaches with golden sand are only a 20 minute drive from the house.
Nelson city is a 40 minute drive from the house.
