About our home

We are flexible, looking for a long swop, up to a year from late February 2007, any where south of our old home city Birmingham. You surprise us! Our modern, spacious, open plan home is designed to take maximum advantage of the picturesque river and tree'd reserve views. It is only 10 minutes walk on the level from Nelson town centre and a 10 minutes drive to the safe and popular Tahunanui beach. There are many tourist attractions within the greater Nelson region, including Abel Tasman National Park, Nelson Lakes, Golden Bay, Farewell Spit and routes leading to the West Coast, Central South Island and East Coast to Christchurch.
You can have the use of our car, we do not expect to have yours. Our aluminium boat with small outboar you are welcome to enjoy. Push bikes galore. You can see more at: http://www.warmfit.com/home.exchange.htm

More about us

  1. We are Bob and Janice, semi-retired ex-Brits. We first emigrated to New Zealand 35 years ago and during that time have successfully swapped homes, both within NZ and the UK, for periods of a year each time. We seek an exchange of at least 6 months minimum and longer if possible.

We are non-smokers who enjoy entertaining friends in our home. Our interests other than travel and the internet include walking, swimming & motorcycling, all of which are abundantly on offer in the Nelson region.

Our three NZ born adult children are all currently living in the UK and swapping homes would give us the opportunity to combine spending time refreshing our interest in England whilst also enjoying time with our family.

Where is it?

Nelson, at the top end of the South Island, is a favoured tourist location, both for overseas visitors and New Zealanders alike. The area boasts the sunniest climate in New Zealand, where hot dry summers are tempered by afternoon sea breezes. Winters are normally dry and sunny with temperatures upto 14C. The river which is only a few metres away, is home to trout, eels, ducks and many other bird species. The rear, small, private garden, has views to the hills which surround Nelson.
