About our home

Our home is circa 1930 with many upgrades, but old-world charm. We are located 20 minutes walk from Nelson's town center, 8 minutes drive from a popular and safe swimming beach, just 5 minutes from bush walking tracks and a cycle trail that meanders along the coast to our local wineries. Our house is situated in the lovely town of Nelson at the top of New Zealand's South Island. Regional flights land here multiple times a day from either Auckland or Christchurch, NZ's two international airports. Nelson/Tasman area is best known for its incredible National Parks (we're an 1-1.5 hours drive from three different National Parks), wine and stunning scenery.

Our home has two main bedrooms. There is a king sized bed in the master and a queen sized bed in the second bedroom with a third small bedroom appropriate as either a baby's nursery or a child's bedroom. Our home is sunny and bright, with a heatpump for heating or cooling. New Zealand stays quite temperate all year round with quite mild winters. Nelson is typically in the top three for New Zealand's "Sunniest City" competition. Even in the winter, we have sunny days most days, usually getting above 10 degrees celcius. We have recently completely renovated our bathroom and now have a rainhead shower to enjoy. Our property includes off-street parking for two vehicles. We also have a small, green, fenced in yard with a veggie garden.

More about us

  1. We're William and Kristen and baby Ari. Our vision is to meet Kristen's Canadian parents halfway between New Zealand and Canada, so therefore our dream destination is Hawaii!

  2. William is a Service Supervisor for a local heavy machinery company and Kristen is a Speech-Language Pathologist.

  3. We love family and the outdoors. Our ideal weekend is spent enjoying coffees and adventures out in the community or riding our mountain bikes.
