“What a superb swap anyone thinking of visiting New Plymouth this is the house for you. The home was large and spacious, colonial yet very modern in a quiet parkland area of the city. Easy walk into town. Gillian was an excellent host quick and easy to communicate with and spoilt us on our one night stay. My only regret is that we did not stay for longer .....next time we will. Thank you again.”

About our home
Our home is an Edwardian villa built in 1909 which has been updated and extended to include modern conveniences but retains many period architectural features. We are situated on a quiet quarter acre corner section on a tree lined street near the centre of New Plymouth City. We are 50 metres from Pukekura Park and 10 minutes walk from the Bowl of Brooklands. Central city shopping, the Wind Wand and Coastal Walkway are an easy 20 minute walk away and the North Egmont Visitors Centre just 20 minutes drive on the slopes of beautiful Mt Taranaki.
We also have a holiday home at Lake Tarawera, near Rotorua, Bay of Plenty ("Lakeside holiday house") which may be available instead of our New Plymouth property.
Please note, we have a beehive about six metres from the back door. Also, we have a cat which we take to our vacation home so neither property is completely cat hair free.

Gillian's reviews
As a host (4)“It was a treat to live for a week in Gillian and Wayne's palatial home in New Plymouth. Their house is gorgeous with everything at the right place be it in the house or in the lovely garden. Everything is on hand to cook and live an easy life without fuss. We also enjoyed the geckos in their little house.... In short this place explains why we loved so much New Plymouth and the Taranaki region. Definitely worth a visit. And thanks again to Gillian and Wayne for their welcome there and the communication before the swap. We look forward to welcoming them in Paris soon.”
“Gillian and her husband are so kind. They are full of hospitality. They enjoyed to share the joy of life to other people. I've really learned so many thing from them. The home is also wonderful. It was really comfort for me, I felt there as my own home during my staying. ”
“Wow, What a wonderful home Gill and Wayne own and so generously share! it is in a perfect position, just minutes from the centre of town where you can find all of the usual stores and plenty of restaurants! The park is just opposite the house where you can go for wonderful walks and visit the fernery. You can also explore Mount Egmont from here and drive the surf Highway, among many other things. Gill and Wayne are wonderful hosts, they waited for our arrival and even invited us down to a restaurant they were dining at. Gill had baked cookies, left some wine and also got some toys out for the kids too! The communication throughout the booking process and our stay was excellent and we were made to feel very much at home and treated just like family. Thanks again for a great stay guys, the kids loved hunting for easter eggs all over the garden, keep an eye out for any they might have missed! love the Prince family.”
