About our home

Type: House, Bathrooms: 2, Bedrooms: 3, Sleeps: 5

We have a Victorian Period house in a prominent South Hill location. The home is Oamaru Stone. Lead-light windows with doors and balustraded Rimu staircase provide beautiful original features. A warm and inviting lounge heated by wood fire makes for cosy winter evenings while the light-filled kitchen and dining room leading to the deck allow the sun to bathe the home. A delightfully landscaped gardens with flowers, vegetables & fruit trees adds to the homeliness. A single garage with remote control and off street parking and a workshop attached for convenience.

Our section is fully fenced and very private. The landscaping includes a terraced rockery, waterfall and pond with a fountain. From the upstairs bedrooms we enjoy amazing mountain views with ocean views stretching the length of the bay - headland in the North to the forest headlands on South Hill.

It is an easy 10 minute walk to town, harbour and Public Gardens.

Our house is 10min walking distance to Oamaru's Town Centre, Harbour (with Blue Penguin Colony) and the Victorian Precinct (including the SteamPunk Headquarters ).
Two of New Zealands leading restaurants are close to Oamaru with approximately 25 other restaurant and cafe provide a great selection of options to choose.

Queenstown is an easy scenic 3 hour drive , through the Lakes & Dams on the Waitaki River,Dunedin is just over an hour away.

Oamaru has a 12 Grass Tennis Courts, 3 Golf Courses, a magnificent new Aquatic Centre and untouched natural Beaches within 3 minutes drive. The Vanishing World trail and Alps to Ocean bike ride for the outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy.

Oamaru and the Waitaki District received an excellent 'right-up' in the latest Lonely Planet Tourist Guide book.

Oamaru has just been voted the Sharpest Little Town in New Zealand. Most of all it is the people that make this such a special place.

Surrounded by ocean to the East and Mountains to the West it has a pristine environment, wonderful folk, great coffee and many restaurants to savor the delicious New Zealand cuisine.
