More about us

  1. My wife Diane and myself (Andy) are a middle aged couple wanting to explore the world now that our children have left home. Our main home is on a Deer and beef farm just outside of Timaru, New Zealand. We are planning a trip to the UK and Europe in May to August this year and would love to experience the local hospitality in some of these countries in exchange with a stay on our farm and or house at Stewart Island.

Where is it?

Stewart Island is New Zealands most southern National Park. It is located across Foveax Straight from Bluff. Numerous Islands dot the shoreline and densely forested hills descend to a coastline of rock outcrops and golden sandy beaches. It is a natural refuge for marine and bird life. Vivid dawn and twilights give rise to the Islands Maori name Rakiura - Land of the Glowing Skies. It is accessible by ferry and plane to the small township of Oban.

The Island is a walkers paradise offering short walks to more strenuous tramps, from bird watching to kayaking or maybe diving, fishing and hunting.
