About our home

Situated on Ohope Beach in a sheltered sunny quiet spot. Property runs down to beach front. An escarpment at the rear is covered with pohutukawa trees. Hear the sounds of the sea. Good BBQ area with lots of outdoor decks. Fruit trees. House built 1950's with recent substantial renovations. Moderate climate. We feel comfortable and relaxed living here and enjoy waking up to the sun rising out of the sea and taking beach walk. The house has a guest wing with facilities attached to the main house, so you will be able to spread yourselves throughout. Clean and tidy.

More about us

  1. There is just the two of us. Jack and I are semi retired. Jack is an ex school principal that works as a consultant for education in NZ. I am an artist and have a studio out the back of the property. Jack plays a lot of golf and while I go walking and sailing. I have a small laser yacht and sail in the harbour with the local sailing club. We are tidy people and respectful of others property.

Where is it?

Sandy beach on doorstep with a walk to beautiful secluded Bay. Cafes and P.O. in Ohope village 500 metres. Whakatane township 10 minutes drive. White Island tours from Whakatane. Rotorua 75 minute drive. Swimming, beach walking, surfing, sailing, fishing and golf available. Our location is truly paradise with a warm micro climate of its own. It's a well kept secret away from the normally trodden tourist route. Locals are friendly.
