More about us

  1. About us: Sally and Tony are business owners in Omarama. We have been married 42 years and had busy careers in Auckland before coming home [Sally born and raised in Omarama- Tony holidayed here from childhood]. Sally was a ferry skipper in Auckland and if you google Sally Fodie you will find more info on that. Tony worked at a large retirement village. We arrived in Omarama 11 years ago and set up our business (see my Homepage). It keeps us busy nine months of the year and the other three months are free. We travel extensively - camping in the USA- especially the North West is our favourite holiday. although we are happy to pitch a tent a few home comforts for us in our sixties has appeal- hence the desire to swap vacation homes.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Omarama is situated in the Otago High Country an hour from Mt Cook, two hours from Queenstown and an hour and half from the Coastal town of Oamaru. It is a popular holiday destination for hikers, fishermen, gliding pilots and the recently opened Alps to Ocean Bike trail. We have national conservation areas all around us. The village though small has three hotels, six restaurants including a vineyard restaurant. Check our website
www.discoveromarama.co.nz. If you love the mountains and outdoor activities this is for you.
