More about us

  1. We are Paul and Michelle, a couple in our 50’s with 2 sons 21 & 19 who may occasionally travel with us. We live in Mt Eden, Auckland and love to escape the city and spend many weekends and holidays on beautiful Waiheke Island.

  2. We enjoy travelling and mostly will be just the two of us but occasionally we may travel as a family. We would like to exchange with other second home owners who can do a non simultaneous swap.

Where is it?

We are close to Blackpool beach which is excellent for swimming when the tide is in. This beach has endangered birds like the dotterel visiting. There are many walks around the area. We are walking distance to Big Oneroa beach and also Little Oneroa Beach. Oneroa village is the main village on the island with excellent cafes and restaurants, many with sea views. There are also some great shops and a mini supermarket. Little Oneroa has a convenience store, takeaways and the beach has a great children’s playground. There is also an excellent pizza cart.
Waiheke is known for its many wineries with excellent restaurants and beautiful settings.
Our favourite beaches are Oneroa, Palm Beach, Onetangi, Enclosure Bay but there are many more around the island. Onetangi has some great cafe/restaurants on the beachfront.
Ostend is the commercial hub with the main supermarket, Placemakers home store and Waiheke Living, a department store.
