About our home

** Also available for non simultaneous swap** Looking for Europe this May June July. Our home is a modern home with a relaxing vibe. Amazing views from all rooms. The large outdoor entertaining areas on both sides of the house have sea views and capture frequent colourful sunsets. We love cooking so the pantry will be stocked with a great variety of spices, and the kitchen is well equipped. This is the type of home people fall in love with and don't want to leave. Central to everything the island has to offer.

Just a 5 minute walk away from one of the islands most beautiful beaches, Palm Beach, (a safe swimming beach). Easy walk to the Saturday markets and a number of restaurants. Bus stop just two minutes walk away. Very central location so most things are within a 10 minute drive. This is a quiet friendly neighbourhood.

The island is known for its many world class vineyards and restaurants. The Hauraki Gulf (surrounding the island) is a fisher persons haven. Just a few minutes and you are out catching some delicious snapper among other varieties.

If you arrive on the car ferry you will see a sign 'SLOW DOWN YOU ARE HERE'. That is what Waiheke is about. A slower place of life, fewer vehicles, enjoy the micro-climate, taste the world class wines, eat at the restaurants serving up the wonderful food New Zealand produces.

Voted by Conde Nast as 4th best island in the world, and Lonely Planet as 5th best destination.

If you need to get into the city it is only a 35 minute ferry ride away. No parking hassles and you are right downtown.

(The house is not suitable for under 6 year olds)

More about us

  1. We retired early so that we could spend more time travelling. Valdis previously had a business that specialised in movie and advertising special effects and rigging, and I worked in I.T in software development. We moved from Sydney to Waiheke Island New Zealand in 2008 and have since spent a few months a year travelling in between fishing, gardening and just relaxing.

  2. We enjoy cooking which is why we like staying in homes

  3. We love gardening (and eating the fresh produce), and fishing (and eating the catch)
