About our home

Our house is beach front. It was built less than 2 years ago and has a super king master bedroom with ensuite and 3 further double bedrooms, 2 that open out to a patio and garden. The living is all open plan with views to Taramea Bay beach and the north opens up to the large outdoor area with BBQ, open fire and dining area. The house is warm and relaxed, and lovely place to watch the changing weather. The beach is a great swimming beach, popular with families and only takes a minute to walk to.

More about us

  1. We're a couple with 3 adult children who love traveling. Sometimes it's just us, sometimes it's with the whole whanau (family)

  2. Jason is a Chief Executive and I'm in HR. Our adult children are spreading their wings and working overseas so we're keen to travel to see them.

  3. We are as happy in a quirky shack as we are in an architecturally designed home. We really like staying in a variety of places and we are open to interesting offers. We have listed 3 houses to swap - our home in Riverton, our holiday house in Arrowtown, and our Airbnb in Invercargill.

Where is it?

Riverton is cozy seaside village located on the Southern Scenic Route. It is a working fishing village with lots of history and a popular family beach. A great spot to base yourself while you explore Te Anau, Milford Sound, The Caitlins and Stewart Island. It’s a 30 minute drive to the city of Invercargill through lovely farmland, a beautiful 3 hours drive to Queenstown, and 3 hours to Dunedin.

Buzzy restaurants
The Aparima Tavern is a great spot to watch the tides roll in and out of Jacobs Estuary. The food is great and the staff are fantastic. The Beach House restaurant is a lovely spot at Riverton Rocks to watch the surfers (and dolphins if you’re lucky), for coffee, brunch or dinner. The crib cafe represents retro Riverton and does great brunches and homemade baking, and the Orepuki cafe (about a 20 minute drive towards Fiordland national park) is an award winning unexpected find.
