About our home

Our home is a spacious, contemporary (5 years old) home on an acre section. It has outstanding views of the sea, hills, and sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.
The house is double glazed, has a large open plan living area with a modern kitchen, separate lounge, three bedrooms, two bathrooms (with toilets), a separate toilet, double garage, a patio at the front, decking at the back.
It has two sofas in the living area and three in the lounge, so plenty of room for relaxing.
In the lounge there is a gas fire, and in the living area there is a heat pump. The bedrooms have their own heaters.
It has all modern conveniences and is extremely comfortable to live in.

More about us

We are Chris and Maureen Ryan and have recently retired from teaching.
We have four children, one of whom presently lives in Guernsey, where we have visited for the last two years.
We love traveling and are keen to consider an exchange with the view of using the home as a base for further travel to Europe.
Once again we would like to go to Guernsey and explore countries we have not yet been to. Being close to London has the advantage of access to budget airlines as well as allowing us to further enjoy what London or nearby places have to offer.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We are 4 minutes drive from the township of Mapua. Nearby on the Mapua wharf is a cluster of shops and cafes, including an outstanding art gallery and two cafes with top class food on the wharf, opposite an Island (Rabbit Island).
Three minutes walk down the hill and you are on the beach, which is partly stony, partly sand. There are extensive walks nearby including a bush walk in the immediate area.
The township of Richmond is 15 minutes drive, Motueka is about 13 minutes away and the main city of Nelson about 30 minutes drive.
Nelson is renowned as a holiday resort and has a considerable number of attractions.
The popular Abel Tasman walking track is about 25 minutes drive.
