About our home

Tapeka View is a luxury modern holiday home that sleeps 6 people in the upstairs home with 2 queen beds and a bunk room. There are 2 decks to cook your BBQ on and to soak in the views. There is a one-bedroom self contained unit downstairs with a super king bed which can, by request, be split into two single beds, a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. This also has a private outdoor BBQ area.

If you have a larger group of 8 people, there is an internal door that can be unlocked to convert it to one house.

More about us

  1. Kelvin and I are semi-retired, moved to Russell in 2011 leaving behind busy working lifestyles, me in the corporate world and Kelvin as a builder.

  2. Kelvin still does a bit of building for ourselves and friends and we are working on a project, setting up a glamping (flash camping) site just out of Russell. We hope to have this ready for this summer, December in New Zealand.

  3. I love design and we love to sail, fish and dive. I enjoy gardening and cooking and we have a 42 foot yacht that we love to get away on. Sailing in the Bay of Islands is amazing.

Where is it?

Tapeka View is located at Tapeka Point at the entrance to the Bay of Islands, just two kilometres from the historic village of Russell.
It’s the perfect base for exploring and enjoying all that the region has to offer. The retreat is across the road from a shingle beach on the ocean side of the peninsular which is world famous for fishing and diving. A two minute walk finds you at Tapeka Beach, a beautiful white sand beach safe for swimming. We have 270 degree views of The Bay of Islands. Relax and watch the boats go by and the dolphins frolic.
