About our home

Located in one of Dunedin's most desireable suburbs, St Clair, our beautiful bungalow was completely refurbished in 2015 and offers modern beachside living, with St Clair beach being a quick 5 minute walk away. There are 3 generous sized bedrooms, master with walk in wardrobe and ensuite with double shower. The second bedroom offers a queen bed and the third, children's bunks, both rooms with built in wardrobes.
At the rear of the house, is a large open plan kitchen with scullery, living and dining space complete with high cathedral ceilings, and where we spend most of our time as a family. Large sliding ranches open onto the deck which encorporates comfortable outdoor dining and lounge settings, outdoor fireplace, BBQ and spa pool.
This house is warm and cosy in the winter, with two heat pumps and a logburner, and bright and airy in the summer with two air conditioning units and large doors which open to maximise indoor and outdoor flow. Perfect for those holiday drinks in the sun!
We love living in St Clair - The St Clair Esplanade is a short walk away - there you will find a mix of bars, restaurants, cafes, salons and homeware boutiques. You can grab your morning coffee before a walk down the beach or morning surf, or afternoon drinks in the sun at any of the local bars.
The St Clair Hot Salt Water Pool is perched on the rocks of St Clair beach and is open Oct - March from 6am. It has both lane swimming and a childrens play area. For those who would like to learn to surf, or hire a board, the Esplanade Surf School operates year round, look for the van near the Surf Lifesaving Club.
We are a 5 min walk to a small supermarket, butcher and takeaways.
Our home is ideally located to enjoy many of Dunedin's attractions. The Otago Peninsula contains lots of great hikes and trails, with breath taking rugged scenery, some great surf breaks and lots of opportunities to see local wildlife close up, penguins, seals, sea lions, and albatross. About an hour and a half south of Dunedin is The Caitlins, which has some absolutely stunning New Zealand scenery, along with some of the best surf in New Zealand.
15 minutes drive to the CBD where you'll find your normal mix of shops, boutiques, cafes, bars and eateries as well as muesems, art galleries, and heritage buildings.
Happy to answer any questions you might have about our home or Dunedin!

More about us

  1. We're a family of four who love to travel and explore new things! We're flexible with our work, so open to any opportunity to give our boys some cool experiences.

  2. Richard and Rachel own hospitality businesses, our boys are football mad.

  3. We love living by the beach. Most of our summers revolve around the water, boating or surfing and our winters around the football field and skiing. We both love good food, good wine and holidays!
