About our home

Our lovely home was built in 2015 a short stroll away from the Pacific and with direct access to the Christchurch Estuary.
The modern living area is open space with big sliding doors opening on a quiet garden with established trees.
There are 2 double bedrooms and a kids bedroom with nice bunks. The bathroom is modern and clean with bath and shower.
Christchurch is a great starting point for many nature and water adventures. The city centre also offers galleries, museums, restaurants and bars to keep you entertained.
We are French but we fell in love with New Zealand and the South Island particularly :)

Neighbourhood

South New Brighton is a quiet beautiful neighbourhood between the Christchurch Estuary and the Pacific ocean. Its location makes it unique when you love nature, birds and peaceful strolls on the beach. The house is 5 minutes away from the beach on foot and the back fence door takes you straight to the Estuary path.

If you want livelier activities you're only a 20 minute drive into the city centre with its many bars, restaurants and galleries to name a few. The New Brighton "village" is a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk and boosts a supermarket, cafes, bars and shops.

Buzzy restaurants
Plenty in Christchurch city with Little High Street being my favourite place.
Cool bars
Great bars in the city centre. I like the Smash Palace most for its low key yet fun atmosphere
Cozy cafés
No need to go in Christchurch for those. New Brighton has 2 very nice cafes.
Retail therapy
My favourite is The Tannery with its old factory arches and gorgeous tiles
Bit of culture
The Museum of Canterbury is a must see as well as the Christchurch Art Gallery
Walks in the park
This is what my house is about: ocean, estuary, parks, you name it it's there :)
Spot of exercise
Same as above
Day tripping
Akaroa is a great day trip if you'd like to swim with dolphins. Kaikoura is also nice for whale watching. Arthur's Pass will give you the mountain vibe.
